Power relationship between inverter and lithium battery

May 29, 2025

Today we will discuss the power relationship between lithium battery and inverter (without considering the factor of power consumption time)

Let's take a 5KW inverter as an example

A 5KW inverter can normally use a 51.2V 100AH (5KWH) lithium battery

The continuous discharge current of a 5KWH lithium battery can reach 100A. The maximum stable discharge power of the battery can reach 51.2V*100A=5.12KW

5.12KW is greater than the 5KW of the inverter, so when the inverter discharges 5KW, the lithium battery power can keep up

What if the high-voltage inverter is 50KW

In this way, a high-voltage lithium battery is used. Normal high-voltage inverters are more complicated. Many brands have different discharge currents. For example, a 50KW Deye inverter can connect two sets of batteries, and the discharge current of each battery is 50A

So two sets of 512V 100AH high-voltage batteries are needed (512V*50A*2=51.2KW)

 High voltage batteries

If it is a Solis 50KW high-voltage inverter, two sets of batteries can also be connected, but the discharge current of each set is 70A, so only two sets of 358.4V 100AH high-voltage batteries are needed (358.4V*70A*2=50.1KW)
